Best Restaurants and Local Businesses Selling Groceries in Los Angeles

With the recent stay-at-home and shelter-in-place orders being implemented across the country many of us are cooking/baking at home a lot more than usual. It can also be difficult getting groceries these days while trying to snag a slot online or standing in line with multiple people outside of a store, which isn’t the best look when trying to social distance (lol right?)

I decided to look at options besides traditional grocers and take a different approach to buying the basics such as milk, eggs, bread, produce and wine during the quarantine. I researched and found quite a few restaurants in Los Angeles offering easy ways to obtain the kitchen staples you need while supporting their business and employees. You get what you need and you help keep them in business during this difficult time; it’s a win-win, guys. Your dollar goes a lot further towards helping a small business than it does a large national chain.

This list was compiled with the help of friends and a lot of research but since this is an ever-evolving time, just remember that the below information can change abruptly. Everyone is trying to navigate this crazy landscape from individuals to businesses to local governments so be aware of this reality. Most of the restaurants mentioned offer their own direct delivery or via Postmates and/or Caviar. If possible, I suggest ordering directly as food delivery services take a large percentage from the restaurants but either way, you’re helping them out!

Please share this list with family and friends so they know they have more options when trying to get groceries.

Seabold Ginger Beer - Los Angeles Area

This is my favorite ginger beer/mixer and it happens to be made right here in Los Angeles. While premium, organic ginger beer may not be a staple it’s nice to have something around other than flavored sparkling water to sip and mix your booze with. Who doesn’t love a good Moscow Mule or Dark ‘N’ Stormy?! They have two flavors - Original and Turmeric Black Pepper, I love both. They sell it in a lot of stores and restaurants based in L.A. (many of which have closed due to the quarantine) but it’s been harder to track down with the lockdown in place. That’s why I was excited to see that they deliver to individuals around the greater Los Angeles area!

You can order pick up in DTLA or get it delivered through them. Contact on their website or DM on Instagram.
